It's difficult to find discounted tickets to the zoo. However, It's worth the price and is the number 1 zoo in the US. If you are going with 4 paying people (age 3+) or more you may want to consider membership. Keepers' club ($234) includes 2 adult unlimited passes as well as 2 one time use passes. You can then get 2 more passes for 50% off so if you want to go with 6 people you would end up paying $290. Without the membership the trip for 6 people would be $336.

You may also want to consider a San Diego Go Card which will give you access for 3 days to the Zoo, LegoLand, SeaWorld, Safari Park and some other attractions. I find this to be a good value because there is so much you can pack into a trip to San Diego.
We bought the San Diego Go Cards from Costco on our last trip.
I was the Best, still the Best, and will always be the Best.

Are there enough activities in SD and surrounding area that are doable with an infant (like 1-2 months) to make it worthwhile for a 3 or 4 day trip?

Think so
dont think an infant will ruin trips to zoo, wild animal park, sea world, balboa park, point loma etc.....

sure about that.  Dont say I'll do things tomorrow when you can do them today!

you never know what the future holds if you can go now i would do it.  An infant wont spoil a great trip for husband and wife.  Wife and husband need vacations for themselves without the mishpacha

Not going to SD now doesn't mean not going on vacation. We'll go somewhere else instead - spent most of today looking at other options.
