I am booked into LAX (Delta glitch, thanks Dan) Thursday Jan 30-Wed Feb 5. I am spending Shabbos in Palm Springs area. For the days after that, I'm looking have a nice few relaxing days in quiet, scenic areas.

Where is the best, quietest beach-side area to go in the Southern California? I was thinking it would be better to go to San Diego (La Jolla, Coronado, Torey Pines, etc) rather than LA. Is this true? I'm looking to do "budget" (read: cheap) stuff, like walking trails, kayaking, biking.

I'll be renting a car, food isn't part of this equation.

Also, is it worth spending a day in Palm Springs area, or should I head straight to the coast?
u should definitely spend a day or more in Palm springs they are so many nice hikes and beautiful scenario

Correct, CA uses FasTrack.  If you want to use the CA-73 to/from LAX-SAN beware that it's a huge speed trap. It's basically empty all the time due to it being a toll road and only saving a few minutes (without traffic) and cops love to give speeding tickets.

You can use your FasTrack from LA or SF in OC, just note that if you want to use the HOT lanes on the I-110 and I-10 in LA that you need a newer one with a switch to select how many people are in the car.

True, but you can't ride for free as a carpool in the HOT lanes without a transponder.

When I was in SD here was the only place that had a minyan 8:00 am, (call before you go, you need a pass code to get in) the other shulls were way earlier. It's about 10 minute drive from the Hyatt Regency La Jolla

I emailed and called but still no response. I would really love to have the option of an 8:00 Minyan. Ilherman, do you know if there was a steady minyan there every day?

Yeah... I email'd them as well and they didn't respond to me either, that's why I didn't mind checking it out until I decided to give it a shut. I have no idea what's going on these days. Maybe email them that you're living in the area and you wonna know more about Yidishkeit...  ;)

I have 4 adult/child tickets to legoland. I bought for my trip but now thinking it will be to close to my flight. I don't know if this is the right spot for this but would anyone be interested in buying them off me? $200/4. I apologize if there's a better place to put this that I'm unaware of. Please guide me.

I can deliver in Brooklyn or lakewood

I am thinking of 2 night stay in San Diego near Seaworld. What's the better option, The US Grant, at 12k points (You can also upgrade for a small fee), or The Paradise Points for $441 (+all their extra fees)
I love that the Paradise is on the beach! Has anyone been there in the past? Were you satisfied with the room? The US Grant looks more upscale, but Paradise looks more exciting.... Anyone?
Thanks!
