It looked like there may have been street parking right in front but it fills up extremely quickly. I doubt you can rely on it.

AAA has a slight discount im pretty sure
also a lot of the hotels near seaworld might offer you a discount if you buy tix from them

if you go weekdays, I'm pretty sure it's $50, u should be able to get another discount on top of that for AAA, but it won't be much

On points? Cash? Is budget a factor?

Im going to CA in end of August for a week with 4 kids, planing on staying in San Diego for 3 days(not shabbos),

Where do I start as far as location/area as where I should stay?
If I go for hotel I will need 2 rooms or I can go for a VRBO, but I cant figure out where in the city I should consider staying.
I wouldn't mind not far from a minyan and close to attractions and a nice view (but I don't want overlooking a non-tznius beach).

The map in wiki gives some info and the map on priceline and VRBO gives some too.

Can anyone sort out the areas please?

i wrote once before. i stayed in paradise point. it was an amazing experience. they have 2 bedroom suites.  with kids this can be amazing, many onsite attractions. as far as tznius beach goes they have pretty quiet areas on the island. but it is not next to minyan.... pretty close drive to the attractions too.

Without knowing what area you are interested in:
Marriott Marquis is nice, by the marina.
Coronado Island Marriott is not San Diego proper, but very nice, relaxing area.
If you want to be guaranteed more space, there's always Residence Inn.

I just stayed at the hyatt Regency mission Bay and I think it fits all your criteria. It's 15 minutes from a shul and the kosher restaurant. Ocean view but not on a beach. Right across the street from sea world
