Can I book a single award ticket for a 2 year old?

I have Hawaiian miles and want to book a flight from LIH-SAN.  On the day I would like to travel, there is 1 coach seat left at the saver rate (17.5k miles) and several coach seats at the standard level (30k miles). 

If possible, I would like to make two separate reservations (one at 17.5k miles and one at 30k miles = 47.5k miles) instead of a single reservation (30k miles x 2 = 60k miles).  The tricky part is that co-passenger is 2 years old.  Will they let me book a separate award ticket for her --- or will her flight need to be tied to an adult reservation.

They don't check IDs for kids...

But they do ask for the passenger's birthdate in the reservation.  So if I tried to book it, would it prevent me if the passenger is only 2 years old? 

I think I recall saying you have frequently used wrong birthdates for kids under 2 who want to pay for a seat.  Is this what you would advise if the system prevented me from booking it for a 2 year old?  Thanks!
