Traveling EWR to LAX round trip. have the SRC and enhanced amex platinum.  Also have united lounge passes.   Which lounge should be top of list?  (flying united)

I got in fine. Lounge is dated and cramped . Most snacks are kosher, and good beer/drink selection.

I was recently at Pisa Galileo airport, I noticed the lounge there accepted both priority pass and diners club cardholders. Being I have a discover card (which shows a diners club logo), I ignorantly went into the lounge and inquired if they could swipe my card in their machine that logs in the priority pass holders and diners club members. They said no problem but warned me that I may get charged even though the machine is not a credit card processing machine but a separate machine altogether, and they don't know the fees for my foreign card that happens to show a diners club logo. I consented. After she swiped it, it showed up as a valid entry pass but reminded me if she clicks OK I MIGHT be charged an unknown amount. That's when I stopped the transaction and quickly called discover to inquire about this matter. They said they don't have any details and cannot help me. At that point I was getting close to my departure, and just gave up.

Does anyone know if I completed the transaction what charges would show on my card and if Diners Club associated with Discover would have helped in this case? TIA
BUMP

BUMP

I've never heard of anyone getting free lounge access via a Discover card.

Googled it just now, and all I found was someone back in 2012 saying his Discover Escape card comes with a ClubLounge membership which grants lounge access, but at $27 per person per visit, which sounds like one of the lower-level Priority Pass membership options.

It looks like it might be free for holders of the actual Diners Club card; here's the site:

https://www.dinersclub.com/clubmembers/airport-lounges#!

I looked up a bunch of lounges I've visited, and it looks like they're all Priority Pass lounges.

Thanks. I'm asking if anyone here actually looked into this before, or maybe can try on their next visit to an airport with a diners club lounge.

The program is detailed on the link above. It looks like Diners Club cardholders simply show their card at any lounge on the list, but there's nothing about Discover card being accepted.

If all one had to do was swipe a Discover card at, e.g., the Air France lounge in Houston or D.C., to get free access, there'd probably be a lot of mentions of it online. Discover certainly doesn't advertise anything like that as being a benefit.

I meant what date but regardless, the new UA lounge is opening on Tuesday IIRC and the pictures look beautiful.

I have used an Israeli Diners Club card at a few lounges, namely in Madrid and Larnaca (Cyprus).  CAL, the Israeli issuer, claims that a fee is supposed to be charged per entry (between $9-30 depending on location), but I have never been charged.  Neither has my wife.  Card was swiped.

Not really an issue anymore now that I have the CSR.

Which card?  It's been over a year for both visits and still nothing - I check my statements like a hawk.  We used the Fly Card (Regular, not Premium) and a Diners High Miles.
