Don't have LoungeBuddy?
the app or the card?
I had the card but it's the same as PP.
I use the PP app but that doesn't show any Star Alliance lounges

App. It's by far the most useful app for lounges IMO.

At IAD on my way home to NY. Checked out the Turkish & Lufthansa lounges. I have both Star Alliance Gold & Priority Pass Select from my Chase Reserve card. The Turkish lounge was not allowing any Priority Pass members for 30 minutes (how does this work??) so I used my status to get in.

The Turkish lounge was packed and hot when I walked in. They have room to hold your bag while at the lounge - quite convenient. The lounge is split into two sections. The first one you enter has the food. The second has the bar. There are bathrooms, a shower lounge (one) and a prayer room in between the two sections. The bar area was less busy, but still quite crowded. The bar selection was pretty basic, but all free. I got a Rum and coke which was pretty weak. The shower lounge was empty, but very basic... And HOT. I also found it pretty noisy with the low ceilings. Unless I was stuck, I wound not want to use this.

After 30 minutes at the Turkish lounge, I headed over to the Lufthansa Senator lounge. The lounge was quite airy and cool. Solid bar right when you walk in with a solid selection (Glenlivet 15). The food looked solid as well (alas not too many Kosher options). I had a peach and some pretzels. They had a nice selection of newspapers and magazines. Plenty of seating. While it was quite full when I arrived (around 4:00 PM), it emptied out around 5 when the Austrian flight boarded. Solid Wi-Fi at this lounge as well. However, Google figured that I was in Germany (they must send the traffic over to Germany first).  Nice clean bathrooms.

Go to the Lufthansa  senator lounge if you have a choice. Pics coming soon.

*A international in J can access the Business lounge at IAD. *A domestic does not grant access to lounges. The Senator lounge is only for *A Gold or First Class passengers. The Business class lounge is downstairs and has showers. Did not have access to this lounge.

Here is the policy: http://www.staralliance.com/en/lounge-access-policy

I did not. Had read on FT that it was off limits. Wasn't looking to make trouble...

When I went it was behind a curtain and no one said anything. I went upstairs and it was nice and quiet. They have one couch with a few sets of tables and chairs facing each other. It was nice but if there more then 5-10 people up there it would have very annoying.

The stairs that lead to the upstairs of the lounge is behind a curtain. It kind of seems like your going in the kitchen but when you move the curtain away there are stairs and the kitchen is on the right.
When you walk in the lounge you make two rights.

In the attached picture taken from :
http://***********.********.com

The blue markes the entrance and the green markes the curtain.
