Again, no one is arguing with the danger of the internet. And for that matter, I think you would find broad agreement with regards to the dangers of television.
Listen, I have no problem with them not wanting to invite anyone either MO, or 'right-wing MO'. That's their decision. But just don't bill it as a unity event, meant to tackle the problem. It's the 'unity' part which bothers me.
I remember learning in R. Katz's community kollel in Cleveland. On Fridays, he would often have different rabbanim give a schmooze in some topic to the youngeleits (sic). He even had the Rav of the main MO shul in the neighborhood give the schmooze. Why? I would guess b/c it was called a 'community' kollel, and he wanted to buttress the name.
