Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

I used UPACK through ABF and have no regrets. I had great help packing (friends) and great help unpacking (family). I can imagine if something would have broken or if someone would have backed out of helping, I would be singing a different tune. I saved thousands over using a mover.

Yelp is good resource. Oz, roadway, Katz, simply movers all have 5 star reviews

Any tips for getting all my accounts updates to my new address? Seems like a lot of work, any shortcuts?

  • Make a list of accounts to change, adding them as you think of them.
  • Do as many as you can asap.
  • Also keep a list of accounts that you changed, so that if you think of one you can easily check if you did it already.
  • Forward your mail via USPS (do this a week before you move since it can take time for them to set it up) (also btw you will get some nice store coupons like Home Depot, BB&B...)
  • Once you move, whenever you get mail which includes the yellow sticker that shows it was forwarded, add that account to your list to change (or tell that person that you moved).
  • This way hopefully once the year ends and they stop forwarding your mail, you won't miss anything (important).
  • It's also nice to have a relationship with the new person at your old address so they can save or send you pics of anything important you may still get.
  • Also - whenever you order anything online, make sure the address is your new one so you don't need to run around picking up packages. Some websites don't even show you the shipping address unless you click to change it from the default, so keep your eye out.
  • You should also change your address with paypal (if you have paypal) since some websites don't like when it doesn't match your address.

Good luck with the move!
