Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Who asked them to pull? Why can't you just write them a BB check?

Called FACTS. They do not allow checks. Credit card or bank account only. Thanks for all your responses!

Or each month make a payment from Devora's BB/Serve to Mendy.  He deposits it into a (non-joint (extra precaution)) bank account that is set up with FACTS as auto pay for the tuition.
Is it worth setting all that up to get points?

It's not hard to set up. (Open a new bank account in a new bank.) Read the wikis.  It's as simple as buying/ ordering a card and registering.
The job is in the loading.  Buy GC with a cc, or not.  Go to Walmart/ Family Dollar/ your computer to load to the card.  Go to your computer and 'pay a bill'.  Check comes in the mail. Deposit in bank.  FACTS removes the money from the account.

Is it worth the points? 1300 points a month.
Use a card with a high point value - SPG, UR, MR.
Use for spending thresholds for bonuses.
13,000 points over the year

But once you've set up a BB or Serve you can max it out to the tune of $5000 or so a month. 60,000 points over the year.

All true... But once it is in the bank, you can pay the cc just as well as tuition... So it is just plain old ms

Hey I have a question. I'm sure it's been addressed before but I can't find it. I'm getting a few new miles/rewards cards now and I'm wondering what tricks I can use to earn rewards without spending money (besides for swiping for others). What's the deal with buying tickets or general merchandise and retuning? Any other methods?

Thanks.

Amazon Payments. Buying & returning tickets is not such a great idea.

Read a bit.  A page or so ago in this thread there was reference to the BB and Serve threads.

I am looking for the best ways to meet spending requirements (for credit card sign up bonuses.)
I know about amazon payments, buying gift cards from staples, and funding a serve account directly with a credit card.

Are there any $500 gift cards that can be easily liquidated? Where is the best place to purchase these and how can they be reliably liquidated?

(I also know how to use PM -if someone wants to help me "matan baseser".)

Read the serve/BB wikis and you will be all set.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

How many posts are added on a typical day?
How many PM's are sent on a typical day?

Just trying to figure out how much the PM's are used. Is it only for buying/selling, or are there lots of behind the scene conversations going on?

PM me and I'll tell you.
Kidding. Only Dan and co would know the exact answer, but I'd guess that there is more behind the scenes stuff than most of us know about.
