If someone was an American resident (has a social, credit history and everything), but currently resides outside the US. Would they run in to trouble form banks if they opened a credit card and did all their spending in a foreign country? They would have an American address, an american account from which to pay the CC bills.

Shouldn't be an issue if you let then banks know where you currently are and that it is not fraudulent charges.

I applied on 12/25 for umpe had a fraud alert on my acc so called fraud on 12/29 got approved went online and applied for the united club and got instant approval applied 1/8 for the ritz carlton called recon got transferred to fraud and got approved for it but only one pull for all 3.

Has anyone had such a thing with chase? (I did see that can happen with amex)

i don't know if this is the reason but they were very suspicious that it wasn't me applying because it was so many cards in a short time frame so they didn't pull when i applied and fraud didn't realize that she was looking at an old pull

yes the limitations on signup bonuses are for each individual card so if you never had the gold you will get it on the gold
