Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

How would that help you either way as the store cards aren't going to let you overpay from your account with them?
Could be helpful if it's a card with a multiplier for gas points.

Why that specifically?

Or better yet if cardcash sells them at a good discount
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

If you can get extra gas points, may be worth it to buy that store card and then pay/overpay your bill.

Are there any store credit cards that accept their own gift cards for the credit card payment?

I believe you can't, someone CMIIW,
Maybe cancel and rebook if that's an option.

What about if I show my club card at the airport? Will they waive the extra baggage fee?

Putting in your FFN won't do the trick?

Where would I put in my FFN? On my reservation (and when I speak to a rep) they see that I'm a club member but it's not linked to my reservation because I didn't pay for it with the club card...

Go to manage my booking. Don't know if it works with united but works like that for AA.

Can I overpay a bill by $200 and get the overpaying balance back in cash?

You can request for the bank to send you a check.

Is that the only way to get the remaining difference back? Shouldnt the teller just give you the difference in cash?

I've had a CS rep offer to transfer a negative balance to another credit card (when I was closing a card with a small negative balance from a return).
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

If I want to sign up for a second BA card, I am aware that I will need to make a new FFN and a new account.

How do I hook up the new account to the new card that im applying for?

when you apply for the card, there should be a option to put in your BA number

And If I want to book an avios ticket and need both accounts, can I use both accounts?
