Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I assume the rule that when arriving in the USA from an international location you have to recheck your luggage no matter what, also applies from Canada. But can somebody please confirm?

I had an Amex card in 2006 (it was closed at some point) but for some reason it's not on my CR. I'm going to get in touch with them to find out why not.
Even if that card is not reported on my CR, if I get them to write that I am a "Member since 2006" will that help my credit score, or they don't actually change the reporting on the new cards for that?

When you get a new Amex personal card, it should say "member since 2006" on it, and it will say that as well on your CR for the new card, and Yes - will help your score.

So every Amex card you have is reported as being from the year you got your first one?
Meaning, the more Amex cards I get, the higher my average age will be? Seems too awesome to be true :-)

Can potentially make it even more awesome by adding yourself multiple times as an au on your own cards for sbs, and increase your average age even more.

Can someone flying Aeroflot credit the miles to another Skyteam members ff program?  If so, what's the best option?

To do so does each memeber of the family need their own ffn or can all the tickets miles be credited to Dad?

Probably FlyingBlue, but depends on the fare class.

And what's really cool is I got my first amex in 10/14 and that's what it shows on my report but the second one I got shows on my report as 1/14
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

It depends from where. In some Canadian airports you clear customs in Canada (YUL for example). In that case you wouldn't declare customs when you arrived and your bags would probably check to your official destination.

Ok so my question is, if I book a flight from yyz to mco with a 3 hour stopover in cle, will I be re checking my bags in cle or will they be going straight to Orlando?

Anyone with experience flying ex-YYZ?
