Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Many have reported that recently

so basically if i add myself even just once as an AU, i risk the chance of a drop in my credit score, is that right?

If the AU card is platinum and not gold or green, yes.

i want to make myself an AU on my wife's amex account, i just wanted to know if there is a chance that it would disqualify me from being targeted for the amex platinum 100k, as i personally don't have any amex accounts. ?

You could be an au on hers & still have your own account.

sorry if i was unclear.
i got offered the gold for 50k, and waiting for the platinum 100k. if i add myself as an AU on her account would i be then less likely to getting the platinum offer later on since I'm already affiliated with amex?

Is there anyway to transfer luftansa miles to any other mileage program? Or you have to book a ticket on 1 of there partners with the miles?

Is there value in the luftansa miles?
Is it worth the $79 fee?

I believe that goes into effect after closing the card.

A) It can be waived easily. B) Well worth it.

Call and ask them to waive it. Be creative. It shouldn't be too hard according to the general consensus.
