Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Is your question how to get from Marriott gold status to Platinum status (in which case Benjie1305 has you covered)?
Or is your question, what is the advantage in getting Marriott Platinum over gold?

I've heard that Chase has been more difficult recently when it comes to opening a 6th or 7th card (even when it's a different variety). Can anyone confirm such an experience? It obviously depends on the account-holder and credit history... but has anyone seen Chase recon being more difficult?

I think it is more what your recent history looks like.

Many have reported that with the UR earning cards. If that happens there's not much to do about it. Unless if some of those 5 are au's that are on your report, then you could have the credit bureaus take them off.

What does one need to say to have AU cards removed from report?

There were a couple of responses, but explaining it is not your liability or your account can do it.

Have you seen her report. Is it possible there is some false/negative information on it?

Tried getting it but "they can't verify the information given" shouldn't speak to someone?  Is there anyway to get through to a operator?

You got the error when you tried getting all 3 reports?

Yes. When they get "info from public records..." it for some reason wasn't excepted

Go to TU and get a copy of her report based on denial of credit.

Does she have any other credit? Student loans, car loans loans etc...?

If not, it is likely that this is an error because she has no credit.

There is nothing on the credit report. Could it be that there is a mistake? How do I go about that?
