Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I'd rather not to get shut down by any and they all have value.
Unless you already have a bank account with all banks that you're eligible to have accounts with, I would guess that there are definitely banks that will probably never bring you worthwhile value. My advice to you is simply that since no one can put a number on it, MS with a bank account that you don't care to get shutdown by (open a new one if you have to).

Before I realized that it was dangerous, I ms'd with a Wells Fargo checking account and credit card, and got blacklisted by them for life after only a couple of weeks. I'm lucky it was only Wells Fargo. Now for ms I only use random local banks or banks without any compelling credit cards. I would never MS through a Chase or Citi account etc., more than a trivial amount.

Ouch, on getting shut down after a couple of weeks. I did one MO with Citi and was surprised it went through. Afterwards I thought it was pretty stupid, as I would NOT want the account shut down especially with their funding options. Guess I'll check around at the banks in our area. I'm primarily looking for one I can deposit MOs in and I know a business account would be best for that.

I think it's the number linked to the pull

[quote name="lechatchileh ariber" post=1355401 timestamp=1450786571]
I remember seeing a discussion a while back about a free credit report check (I think it came with score) for 30 days or so after signing up for an amex, and then if you kept checking it would restart the clock.
Thanks

I copied your post content. It didn't come up as a quote though. I'm sorry.

I have an amex everyday card.

I just got a Plum and Business Gold in the mail- I added the Gold to my "existing account" and linked it to my app on my phone.

Q: is there any benefit (better chances of getting multiple offers/coupons etc)  to keeping the accounts separate (in terms of login) or since the ss is the same, it doesn't matter?

Part 2:
for some reason I got 2 plum cards with different numbers and account numbers. The names are the same on each card except one shows member since 15 and one 16

Q: I activated one through the app and one through the phone system, is is possible to have 2 plum accounts for one business or was this just a glitch and since EIN/ss  is the same they will cancel one? Should I call CS and ask them?

(Sorry for the "megilla")
