If I go to London and I want to get 2 nights in a hotel paid with points what would be my best bet? I have a whole bunch of UR and some spg. What would I need to do?
I have no clue about points. I just spend money so I have racked up some points which I would like to use wisely.

There are many options. Both currencies can get you hotels in London tbh. Read up in the London thread would probably be a good start.

If you are flying on 2 different miles tickets - let's say JFK-LHR with AA and then LHR-CDG with AF - how does connecting work? Do you need to leave security to checkin for the next flight? Do you go through customs in between the flights?

Was just an example. I was wondering for any international ticket - do you have to pass through customs if you're just connecting? And if being on 2 tickets makes a difference?

i just realized i made a mistake because online it looks like that as long as your luggage is checked through to your final destination then most international airports allow for airside transfers and the us and most flights through dublin being the notable exceptions

Every airport is different and every airline has different interline agreements.

IIRC Dan said to send them "the gift of prime" - if they already have prime, it will let them take it as an amazon GC instead
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.
