Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I am not sure if I can ask a question here - it seems only people with thousands of posts are asking ;)

I have read on the forums that after a while when you log into chase you don't see your closed cc.  How long does that take?  I closed a sw card in feb. and a SP in april and I still see both of them.
Thanks

You can hide them in your settings so you wont see them now.

Chase will see them for a long time I imagine. Are you looking to apply again for a card you previously had?

No.  New cards but I thought that it's better for them not see how many cards you closed recently.  Maybe I misunderstood what others wrote.

Thank you for your help!  See here
I believe they can see your closed cards for a few months. Just like when you log on to chase.

and here
They're not as strict as they say they are. They shouldn't see your closed account if it's been 30 days, and even if they can you can say that you thought it cannot be reopened after 30 days so you applied again.
No longer true?

They see how many cards you've applied for and have closed down when checking your credit. And there are times when you are denied due to too many cards applied for recently.  But I don't think people get denied for closing accounts recently.

I recently closed 2 United cards from an account and applied for a United card the next day. Was auto approved, called 5 minutes later and voila!

I'm looking for sAAver award availibility on AA.com, in order to see if there would be availibility to book on BA.com with BA miles.

When searching, I just search for a paid ticket and look for sAAver availibility?

If yes, which catagory is sAAver, "super saver economy", or "saver economy" ?

Thank you

P.s. I'm not providing dates bec at this time i'm unsure which day i'm going to book.

Ive been around ddf for a while, but i haven't really used this place as a resource for traveling, so I consider myself a noobie in the this area. I am looking to get away with my wife after tisha bav for a week, somewhere with nice weather, preferably with private or secluded access to the water. I am flying from ny and im on a budget, but I do have a variety of miles if its not too late/close to use em. I know Dan is big on hawaii, but I was thinking st closer like the Caribbean. any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

How many days are you looking to go away for? Any requirements? and What kind of miles do you have?

preferably a full week. not over a shab (rather not return on friday unless totally necessary). preferably some where I can go to beach with my wife.. I got acesss to UA, SW, delta, aa (aa gcs) etc. wouldnt mind paying either if its cheaper than the gng rate of the miles. thanks

Funny. The more posts you have in your postcount, the likelier you are to post in this thread.
No noobie posts here.
