Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I'm not gonna remember it, though. Next time I want to make a link, I'll have to quote someone's to see how :)

TimT, if I may suggest you to url'ize (new word?) the links you post.
You're right. Should I use the word "link" every time ?

I meant you should add the bbc code so the link should be clickable.

At first I was angry at your response but then I looked around and figured it out. Boy am I proud of myself now!  :D
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Specifically award nights and not through points (SPG posted by end of statement)?
Hyatt posts award nights within 10 days after spending 1k
this is more of what i looking for. and which is the nicest hyatt in NYC that the award night would work for?
As @davidmal says: "Likes" feed the family

I'm not so knowledgeable on rewards booking, but probably United.
What class are you looking to fly?

Does anyone know how I can get UR points from my sisters account to count towards my companion pass. I was thinking of filtering through hyatt but it looks like thats not possible bc I can only transfer hyatt points to "complete" an itinerary that I don't have enough miles for. Any ideas/suggestions?

UR transfers to United.
Also to Singapore, Korean and BA.

If there's availability on United metal, it's cheaper (slightly) to book using KF (Singapore) miles- on United metal they don't charge fuel surcharge. The gap in miles they charge you is greater for business than coach, but I think it's still 5k less in coach for each way.

Where do I search for flights bookable with KF miles?
