Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

May take a little time.
It's been like 5 hours. Is that still in the "little time" time frame?

Go to bill pay. Find Chase. Put in your card number.

I my bad, I thought you were asking about the British Airways card. To transfer to bank account go to settings and then to withdraw funds.

Where can I find a thread that discusses the monetary value of miles / points? In particular, I'm trying to find out how much per mile it is to buy BA miles.
TIA

i need to rent a car in Israel.  I have a chase cc with a us address on it but being an israeli citizen i only have an Israeli drivers license, no car insurance at all and will need to rent as an Israeli resident.  If I use my chase cc will i still be covered for primary insurance or in my case will i need to purchase the insurance on the rental?

I have a technical question about building and keeping good credit. In archive/53213 he says you should pay off cc before statement prints what exactly does that mean. when does statement officially print when they officially give you a timeline to pay off the balance? Why is bad to just pay off the balance when they say it is do?

He means you should pay off almost the entire balance before the statement date closes. Once the statement prints it'll show higher utilization if you have a balance than if you paid 99% of it before then. Higher utilization=lower score.
