Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

That's great! There's no need for you to worry about your score on creditkarma. My credit sesame score is significantly lower than my real scores, (though my real scores aren't nearly as high as my DansDeals Poppyseed score - which is as high as it gets).
so ur poppyseed score is      :o

The score on Discover and Barclays is a FICO score (real score that creditors use), while creditkarma is not (called a FAKO around here).
Is it the same FICO they use when I apply for a CC?
I just found a new supply of forks!

Generally searching the website name with the word fraud or scam works well, if you want to dig a little deeper you can start checking who it's registered too and what other sites they have.

Booked an AA flight operated by El Al.  Was not given a seat assignment.  Can I call El Al to get a seat assignment?  I am a FF with El Al which, at least in the past, allowed you to get a seat assignment for their flights.  What flight number or locator number will I use when I calll EL AL?

IIRC when the record locator # is not in any of the confirmations that AA sent you, you can call AA to get it.

I have a AA record locator number and a usair record locator number but not an el al one.  Should there be a separate el al record locator number also?

Yes and the ElAl one is the only one that'll pull up the flight on Elal.com AFAIK
