Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

I used united points for a trip that includes a swiss air flight and an austrian airways flight.  How do I go about niw getting special meals and confirmed seats on each flight?  Do I call united first?  If I contact the other two airlines i believe that the record indicator given by united is not useful.

You should have gottten a ETKT number from UA use that to call the airlines your flying with, to request KSML and seat assignments
