Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Not sure where this should go so figured I'd ask it here. If I don't buy a seat for a lap child, can I still bring a car seat through the airport in the hopes of there being an extra seat on the plane & if the plane is full just gate check the seat?

I logged in last night to my BofA online account and to my absolute surprise one of my 2 cc was gone, could be that they closed/canceled my cc account ? What could be the reason if then ?
(I’m in vacation and not able to call them from a toll free number)

When is the last time you used that card ? Banks occasionally shut inactive cards.

It was full for a while but I paid it off about 6 month ago, and since then never used it, kept it clean, could it be the reason ? Any chance to restore it ?

That shouldn't be long enough for them to shut it down. But if that was the case, with BoA within 6 months shouldn't be a problem reopening.

It’s certainly a possibility. Always good to put a few dollars on all your cards from time to time to keep them active.

They let you keep a business card in the same login account as personal stuff?

Other way, you can add your personal account to your business login, it's still sort of separated.

Do any CC's offer travel insurance due to illness? This will be booked with expedia if that matters.

CSR has.
I know you have a Hyatt card () which has too.
This is the Hyatt policy

Thanks was looking at the CSR after I posted. Card is in sons name but won't be traveling. If booked with his card will they still get the insurance?

Hyatt card might not be around in August.  :-[

Would you happen to have the CSR language handy?

The following information is a summary only. Please see your Guide to Benefits for complete details.
Benefit Overview
Trip Cancellation provides reimbursement if a covered loss prevents you from traveling on or before the departure date and results in cancellation of the travel arrangements.

Trip Interruption provides reimbursement if a covered loss on the way to the point of departure or after departure causes interruption of your covered trip. It can also provide reimbursement if a trip is postponed due to a covered loss and certain fees are incurred if a new departure date is set.

The information below applies to both benefits. Reimbursement can be provided for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses including passenger fares, tours and hotels.

Covers trips when travel arrangements for a pre-paid tour, trip or vacation have been purchased with an eligible Chase card or with rewards earned on an eligible Chase card
Reimbursement is in excess of any travel insurance purchased, or reimbursement from the occupancy provider or common carrier such as airline, bus, cruise ship, or train
Who’s Covered
Cardholder
Immediate family members (even if the Cardholder is not traveling with them)

Coverage Amount/Period
Up to $10,000 per covered trip and a maximum limit of $20,000 per occurrence and a maximum benefit amount per 12-month period of $40,000

Examples:
A family of four charges a covered trip to their Chase card or pays with rewards earned on a Chase card for a covered trip that costs $6,000/person.  If the family experiences a loss of $24,000 for the entire trip, the reimbursement would be $20,000, as that is the maximum limit per occurrence.

A Cardholder charges a covered trip to their Chase card or pays with rewards earned on a Chase card for a covered trip that costs $8,000.  If the Cardholder experiences a loss of $8,000 for the trip, the reimbursement would be $8,000, as that is less than the maximum limit of $10,000 per covered trip.
Finally, it's Google who has it handy, not I.

Is a non-family member traveling on same itinerary covered. Not clear but it seems the answer is no.
