Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Hi I'm new around here and have a question: I applied for a chase ink preferred, sole proprietor with 1 employee less than 1 year.
i got a letter asking for proof of address (this may be because its a new address for me at chase that I'm not connected to on paper) and business which I currently can't provide due to technical difficulties. How should I go about getting approved?
Anyone have any idea how I can go about getting approved

Call. Talk to a person.  Be prepared with answers to real business questions.
how much in sales last year? how much sales projected for this year? how long at location? do you have a lease or other proof? etc.
good luck

[Not to kick you when you're down, but I make sure to put a few dollars of cash charge on the CSR when booking through Chase Travel.]
I'd try United first.

Be persistent w/United and you'll likely get s/t. When they send you the survey right after the flight, fill in your complaint there.

Question about Marriott annual certifcates:
If my certificate is up to 35k, can I use for a category 3 hotel that charges 17,500/night, but allows upgrade to 24k/night for a suite? It's still under 35k for the night?
I thought I read from Dan that Marriott recently started allowing to upgrade, so long as it was still under the 35k. I can't seem to find that thread, and Marriott's site is not allowing it.
Does anyone have info on this?
Thanks

Do you see the 24k option available with points? If it is, you should be able to apply the cert to it.

It gives the option for points, but not to use the certificate. I was planning on calling Marriott, but I wanted to first be a little informed if anyone on the forums has experience with this.

Gut voch. I bought a Peter pan RT ticket on my amex everyday card and missed the departure so I had to buy a new departure ticket. Am I eligible to get my money back from amex? Purchase protection etc?
Still looking for a good MS method :)

Peter pan is a coach bus company, like Greyhound.

Lol! Missed that part. Have no experience with them but I would send them an email stating emergency came up blah blah (whatever the situation was) and see if they offer any compensation.
