Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Is it a no brainer to pay the annual fee on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless for the annual night free?

It seems like I should post here instead of in the AMEX Offer Thread, especially after messaging an individual user.  I'm new here and I have plenty of AMEX offers I don't use.  How do I get any references to sell there?  Do I just post more on the forums?  I didn't see anything in the OP on that thread, sorry.
go to the goods for sale, and post what you have.
Yes the more you post the more established you become.
 And more trusted you become.

Chase Sapphire Preferred
« Reply #9143 on: April 12, 2021, 09:52:26 AM »
I currently have a Capital One Platinum card . This has been my starter card so that I can build up credit. My score has been fluctuating a great deal but as of today I am at a 690 credit score. I ultimately want to get a Chase Sapphire Preferred (because of the travel points). What do you guys recommend I do? Should I apply straight for the Sapphire Preferred, or try for Chase Freedom first? I don't want to prematurely apply and then get rejected which will in turn bring my score back down.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Is paying a card multiple times in a month a red flag? Read the question, no cycling thru limit. Just paying multiple times over a month. I find it an easy way to keep cheshbon and not spend too much as it keeps hitting your bank account as opposed to one fat bill at the end of the month
Still looking for a good MS method :)

Hi, apologies in advance if this was somewhere, I searched but couldn't find exact details.  I am looking at buying a Marriott 35k cert but in order to book, would have to provide my credit card to the seller.  Is this normal to do?  I understand his account will be on the reservation but I thought I could just change the credit card when I check in.  I am skeptical of providing my CC to someone you know?

Also with this, is there anything stopping the seller from just cancelling the reservation?

Thanks again.

It is normal for the seller to ask for a CC because Marriott has been known to charge the CC used at booking even if not presented to the Front desk. The seller can cancel the reservation, that is why it is recommended to ask for references and buy from established members only
