Topic Wiki

This is the thread where you can ask any random question you have. Feel free to ask even the most basic questions that you otherwise might be embarrassed to ask. This is the thread for beginners, so veterans here will treat you nicely. Ask a beginner's Q in some other threads and no guarantee of that same treatment. ;)
People here want to help, so just have some patience, follow the tips below and hopefully someone will help you when they have a chance.

If you looking for a particular thread you once saw and can't find it, this is not the place to ask. Check out Help Me Find It and ask there.

How to ask a question in this thread:
Click the blue reply button at the top or bottom of the page, type your question, and click post!

Some helpful tips for eliciting answers from other members:
- Keep your question short and precise. No one wants to read a megillah.
- The more questions you ask in one post, the less likely any will be answered. People are willing to answer a question or two, but if you ask all the questions that apply to your particular issue, you're expecting to be spoonfed. Members don't like holding out the spoon, so ask accordingly.

Since i am new at this i never really called to higher my CL. right now I believe I have 5k.
I do have a mid 700 credit score. I do have a freedom card now. What about United?

5k is low but they may very well increase when giving you new cards.

You have the freedom card but you already used those points it came with?

What about the united?  Want to get a new one? Transfer CL..close card...create new FFN.  When applying put in the new FFN in app and add one additional user.  Get card...spend $1k on it...wait for 30k to post...SM them to be matched to 55k and $50 statement.  Thank DDF and mmermss  :)

I have 5k CL on the Sapphire, 5k on Freedom, 13k on United, 5k on BA and 5k on Hyatt.

This is confusing  ???

Youve got a heck of alot more CL than 5k....you have 33k!

With that you have alot of leverage to open new cards and transfer CL/close existing cards to approve the new ones.

Lets say for example the United card.  If you apply for it when you already have one and call up they will deny you because you already have one.  If you start telling them youll cancel now to open the new united theyll ask you why?  Just keep the one you have.

What you can do is either transfer CL and close it first.  Then apply and call up to get the new one.

With SP you can make it into a MC and apply for the Visa  one and call up recon and tell them youll transfer the CL to approve the Visa.

Many cards require different things to churn.  There are different methods to churn...gota find the one that works for you  :)

Yes.  But the balance you still owe will not be transferred and will be lost and you will still need to pay the card.

Dear Rots,

Thank you so much for your appreciation.

I would like to inform you that American Express does not charges anything for payment via external payment processor.

However, we will not able to comment on the charges billed by the Bank of America. I would request you to contact Bank Of America/external payment processor by which you will initiate a payment.

In addition, I have checked your account details and see that you have been making payments via Pay By Computer/Pay By phone on your Card and you can continue to make payments via Pay By Computer/Pay By phone.

I hope this information is useful to you. Thank you for your Cardmembership since 2007.

Sincerely,
