I have the 2011 Sonata, I get 32-35 Highway MPG and 17-19 City MPG

This deff is saving me a lot of money from my previous 3.9L Impala

Can you finance (for the incentives) then pay it all off at first payment, or do the closing costs outweigh the incentives making this strategy a loss?
I got a great price, and that was before telling them that I was gonna finance, I got 1.9APY which is $642 interest over a 4 years!

before you buy a hybrid for its wonderful efficiency, run the math. many (if not most) times the premium you pay for the hybrid will not be made back in saved gas. unless gas gets a lot more expensive or u drive a lot

Good point. Especially is mostly city driving is done.

For Highway mileage a hybrid wont save much $$

Also there was a tax credit for GO Green card (Hybird) I dont know it there is now ... but take that into the calculation...

You definitely can do that (despite what they may tell you otherwise) and the interest for the few weeks until your statement generates is very minimal.

Yup there is a credit pull (pretty obvious)

I know with Hyundai that if you want the "good" rate your FICO credit score gotta be at least 700

Why would you wanna pay it up if you get a good finance rate? I pay about $20 a month in interest - IMHO its deff worth the $20 and not spend 20k at one shot

If you have the extra cash why pay more interest than what you're earning?

Also owing money on a car/house doesn't hurt like credit card debt, but your score will see a nice bump when they're paid off.

Most of the time more than one.

IIRC with mortgages, all pulls within 30 days somehow get consolidated into one (so you can shop around), same with car loans?

Altima was more fun to drive and more youthful IMHO

Never got around to pricing out anything else.  First found what we wanted for sure and then went from there to get the price down.

I'm starting to look into getting a 2012 or 2013 Sonata. In my preliminary first round of quotes I've gotten quotes for $19,968 (In both PA and MD) on a 2012 Sonata GLS with 0.00 financing through Hyundai and recent college grad discount.
Has anyone here done price shopping on a Sonata that can guide me to dealers whom they've dealt with successfully?
How much could I realistically expect to get it down to through haggling/price beating?

Dan has said he's saved 20-40% by haggling with hundreds of dealers nationwide. With a car starting at 20K, I can't see it going down anywhere near that amount ( to $12K-16K)!
Where do I find dealers to contact? Just start googling and emailing every dealership out there?

I bought a 2011 a little more than a year ago, I paid $18,300 and that was without college grad rebate.

Firstly I would recommend you - DO NOT tell them you are eligible for the college grad rebate, only after you come to an agreement in the price then tell them you are eligible and get an additional $500 (or whatever the rebate is)

I got 1.9% Financing. It comes out that I'm paying $624 internet total over 4 years of payments, so keep in mind if there is different promotions avail chesbon what the actual interest will come out to,

Agav - Dan bought his car with Nissan, with hem there is much more leeway in the price, This is from my personal experience of going to Nissan dealers. Also if you are getting upgrades and not the base model, also there is more leeway.

No idea, but the redesigned '13 Altima comes out very soon and will supposedly get incredible MPG.
Sonata didn't work for us due to the low non-adjustable passenger seat=my wife couldn't see the road when we too a test drive :D.  But I find the Altima to be a great car overall and very fun to drive.  On the highway gas mileage is incredible.
Dan, I'm told by a veteran driver of Altima's, that it's a nice comfy/fun car, but that the handling is Fuhgedaboutit!

Source tells me that it very easily hydroplane's etc...

What's your take?

I haven't had any such issues, take it for a test drive in bad weather and see for yourself.
