not sure about their diamond club....but with usa hertz gold club (or higher) i've got an upgrade depending on the mood of the person behind the desk...and usually you'll earn points

never got points- and even called up and they told me no can do. and never get an upgrade with hertz via my gold account- just a little convincing and ill get one.

I have called and gotten the points with a little insistence. I even once got 1300 points for a two week rental w/o asking when there was a special hertz promo...

considering the gold account can be had for free with a promo, why not?
