Save my AAdvantage miles

Hello,

I have almost 40,000 AA miles and they are going to expire on 6/2/2012.  I don't have an open AA Credit Card and am not able to open one right now.  How can I save my miles from expiring?

Thank you Dan. I have some starwood miles. Can I transfer those to AAdvantage and keep it active? If so is there a minimum amount of miles?

Yes, the minimum depends on your SPG level.  Login at spg.com and it will tell you the minimum.

If you have a CC just spend a few dollars and it gets extended for 18 month

Thank you. Looks like the winner to keep my miles alive will be USA TODAY e-Newspaper for 300 Miles.  Starwood minimum was a few thousand points.

I wish flying blue had the same thing. i will have to take a delta flight soon to keep fb miles from expiring  :(
