Personal note (kvittel) at the Kosel for only $5!!
« on: May 13, 2012, 03:16:05 PM »
Thought that this is a pretty good deal. A Rabbi will bring your note to the Kosel for only $5. Easier than shelling out $180 to Vad Harabonim.

The difference is that the $180 go to tzedka, whereas these $5 likely don't.

And btw, Vadd Harabanin does give 500 free minutes at the kosel if u transfer ur Kupat Hair account.

I am a certified Rabbi and will make sure that your note will be properly placed
Gosh, I must have been absent from Rabbinical school on the day that they taught proper note placement techniques!
I guess that's what makes him certified!!

Umm, why not daven and learn for an extra few minutes, and not worry about writing and delivering a note?

Maybe because he is a good heart, and can take the "worry" of writing and delivering a name.

I'm talking about the whole idea of putting notes into the kotel. Why put in a note if Hashem can listen to our tefillos everywhere?
C'mon, it was a supporting wall built by King Herod (who according to the gemara killed out almost all of the chachamim) in order to enlarge Har Habayis. And why did he want to enlarge Har HaBayis? B/c he wanted to build himself a large beautiful building on part of it, and to do that, he had to flatten out the whole area.

And to the best of my knowledge, our older sources don't discuss davening there. It started at a later time in history. The Rambam discusses davening on Har Habayis which is the true makom kadosh.

At the minimum, give the note to s/o going up onto Har Habayis and ask them to put the note down there somewhere.

You know anyone going up to Har Habayis?
