I think you need to do it once you've picked up the item.
Also double check to make sure it's not an item on the excluded list.

Really? Interesting. That would have been good to know when I was buying an Uppa Baby a few months back. I was having a hard time finding the 2012 model on sale anywhere!

Well, I ordered it over the phone to ship to my house, and then I need to go into the store anyway because I have a store credit that they're going to apply to it (and reverse the charge on my cc. I guess I'll try using the 20% off then and hope they don't realize that it's previously been price matched. Is it notated anywhere on the receipt that it's been price matched?

Your best bet for bbb or buybuy baby is to use competitor coupon which is toys r us or kids r us for 20% off. My wife is a couponer she collects markateer coupons clips them and saves all the competitor coupons.
