Credit line on my new Amex cards

I have a blue cash card since 2005 with a 13,000 line of credit.  I am finally learning this game (thanks everyone) and applied for a starwood and a premier gold card.  They were both auto approved.  Now it seems that they just took 5k of my cl from the blue cash card and put it on the Spg.  Is this normal?  Should I complain that I want back my full cl on the blue cash so that I will be able to use it in the future for recon?  Thanks

happened to me before. I personally would not complain unless I actually needed the cl.
