Seat Selection
« on: May 16, 2012, 12:30:18 AM »
I was looking online at my reservation from BKK - JFK and trying to find myself a good seat (economy) - Cathay Pacific

On Seat Guru it says that that my route is supposed to be a Boeing 777-300ER. On CX website it says my flight is the same but it has a "77W".
the problem is, on the seat selection on CX it shows 3-3-3 per row and on seat guru it shows 2-4-2 for premium economy and 3-3-3 for reg. economy.
my Seat says 32E which on CX shows as middle of center row, and on seatguru it shows as middle of the 4 and in prem. economy.

which one is it?

i was thinking maybe to leave the middle seat if its premium economy, but if its not then theres no way im sitting 16 hours in center seat!!

im not familiar with CX premium economy but IMHO its more worth a aisle seat in regular economy then a middle in premium.

why dont you just PUTPAC the airline and ask them what its like?

because their office is closed now - i figured maybe someone here would know.
and secondly, im wondering if premium middle is worth it for a really long haul flight

i PUTPAC the thailand center, and they said there is no such thing as on one leg economy and on 2nd leg premium, its either all or none.
and i cant upgrade either i have to pay a full new ticket which they said would be $2,450 (76,000 THB) if i wanted!

and the second plane is the new 77W.

Yes (eco comfort). Wouldn't do it again. I had 2 real craps next to me, and the lack of a place to stow my yamuka and glasses while sleeping was very annoying. Granted, I'm not very tall so I don't mind a reg seat as much as someone big.

Is SeatGuru accurate?
I enter a UA flight number, it says its a two-cabin flight, but on UA.com I see availability in first class.
Whats that?
