What happened is the following:The OK used to rely on the workers that were supervising that no dairy chips or anything dairy fell into or got mixed up with the non-dairy. They were supervising for allergy (allergic to dairy) purposes. Those people are not on the job anymore, so although it can be parve, OK cannot take responsibility anymore
I spoke to the ok organization. They said that they are trying to pressure tjs, but fyi the same chips are being sold at whole foods and will remain parve. I went tonight and got a bag. It's green, labeled vegan chips, and cost 2.99.
These are OK Kosher too?If they're the same chips, how are they OK pareve? Either it's a different factory, hence the difference in kosher status, or it's the same factory and these should be OK dairy.
there's no problem with the chips themselves, it's the packing facility.
Nope. The ok said the chips will remain parve, but they are worried that dairy chips from the packing facility will drop in. whole foods won't stand for that because they cater to a vegan crowd, so they are still ok parve
It looks like the chocolate chips are pareve againhttps://forward.com/news/471687/trader-joes-chocolate-chips-parve-dairy-kosher/?fbclid=IwAR21ss9TrGlDMF_aiTBKSlF4Kmkd7uE3MlcihlUVnPtVzfPzPVz_J9b0GX0
