I hate hotels like that.  If I were to stay in Oahu again for shabbos I'd find a hotel without sensors like that.

I think it might be hard in that area as there were some other people that ate the meals at the Chabad House / Center and they also had the issue in their hotels, though I don't remember offhand which hotels they were staying at.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

I think both the Sheraton and the Westin are problematic, but I think the Royal Hawaiian is OK.

Thanks for the data point.

Has anyone here stayed at the Royal Hawaiian?

looks really good, I would say skip the submarine tour and just leave diamond head for Monday, otherwise looks like you have a great itinerary

thank you. So it doesnt seem  like too much to cover?
how long do i need at Diamond Head? - flights at 1:45 and i dont want to wake up too early morning after purim.

how about all the other stuff time wise, have you done them to know how much time is ideal per attraction (the specific ones i asked that is)

agreed, I actually spent a whole Friday there. I was saying that I think 2 hours is enough to enjoy the snorkeling without feeling your missing anything and get on with your itin

i spent less time on the hike, and more time at the falls. IIRC there are multiple trails. you can definitely do it in 1:30

i had a convertible, never felt the need for an AWD. I was there in the summer, and not much of a sunset guy

Why are you spending so much time on Oahu instead of Kauai or Maui??

Anyway
-Manoa Falls is nice, maybe 1-2 hours.  I hiked a little past the falls into the bamboo forest.
-Hanauma Bay is overcrowded and you have to watch a video about preserving the coral.  It's overrated, though Oahu isn't known for great snorkeling.
-Diamond head is 1-2 hours, nice view at the top.
-Pearl Harbor can have long lines. allow 2-3 hours.
-H3 and Pali are nice
-I'd skip the Luau.
-Waikiki is worth a walk down I suppose.  There are probably better sunset spots.
-I think dole is for kids. CMIIW.
-Jetskiing on Banzai pipeline was great

-I'd do the kayaking trip to the sandbar that I wrote about in my TR over some of the stuff you have on your list.
