Im in the U.S looking to change dollars into euros for my trip to italy this weekend, whats my best and cheapest option?

A thought though: find out if any banks or partner banks that we have here are in Italy.  If you have an account here, you could withdraw there with minimal or no fees.  Update me on what you decide.

thanks but I ended up just paying a ridiculous exchange rate and going to a reg money changer as I had no other options

I always have the same problem exchanging gbp/eur/chf and yet to find a decent rate. I end up at chase bank always.
Interesting there are no Jewish forex exchangers around as in Israel Uk etc

Check with different banks, my bank BMO Harris has good rates,very close to the forex rate, it is a Canadian Bank with US branches , not sure if they have any in NY, they only give these rates to 00.customers. Last time I bought Euros the forex rate was 1.22 and I paid 1.24  , I bought some more in Germany and paid 1.4

Local banks are not giving a good rate. The cheapest bank that I found was bofa and their taking about 6% juice. Still looking....

I called the automatic system and it gave me the worst rate out of all the places I checked so far for hk-usd. Maybe he’s better for other currencies.  My gut feeling is that there’s a bank that wouldn’t charge anything or maybe just 1% if I deposit the money on the bank or something.

Do you mean one for one by an even exchange? Or the current forex rate which is what I think you meant.
