Are you talking about the Allstate Whole Life insurance plan for young girls? If you are then I regret to say that you are clueless. That was (and is) an absolute real thing that was available, and whoever managed to get it got themselves a great GUARANTEED deal. Healthcare Sharing Ministries are real, but I don't think they have ANY guarantees implied (besides for possibly a current year exemption from the ACA mandate)

My guess is that this is structured like a "health care sharing ministry". I've thought about the viability of setting up something like this for the Jewish community, but IIRC I came to a מסקנא that it would probably not be doable. If it would be doable, it would have to be sponsored by a major organization like Aguda. As far as I could find out so far, any existing such plan involves being a member of some kind of religious organization וד"ל.

Just read up about this, seems like that's probably what it is. Still didn't hear anymore info from them.
But according to my research it seems like they're all Christian based organizations. Any halachic issues with such a thing?

Yes they are listed as the title holder until it is paid off. As part of the loan process they need to be listed and they get the original until you pay it off and then they sign the title over to you.

Interesting. While I never thought of Areivim as a viable solution to protect families, I did look at it as a dignified way to give צדקה.

I'm a part of it and we do occasionally get charged due to the death of a member.

I couldn't tell you. They don't announce the name, which I think was also the point - to preserve the dignity of the family.
