Can anyone explain to me why clothing stores are open in Lakewood during the nine days?
I know technically for a sales one is allowed to shop but where is the spirit of the nine days?

No. But its assured to buy new clothing. And even tho its muttar when there are sales, don't go ahead and make ur sale dafka in the 9 days. I think that was the intention of the question

So I guess goyim, and people who really need clothing (new baby born, etc) don't exist.
But yeah go ahead and judge others and say lashon hara. .
Because thats the real spirit of Tisha b'av.

A) it sounded like the question was on Jewish stores, and not enough babies are being born to run a profit.
B) I'm not judging, just trying to make sense of the OP's remarks.
C) I didn't say any lashon hora.
D) tisha bav is long over.
E) loshon hora is assur all year long

Great job of trying to justify the OP.
Instead of trying to defend store owners who are 100% allowed to open during the 9 days, despite many people not being allowed to shop there.

I guess all that matters is some made up spirit of the law but what's written in the Torah we can throw out so you can defend OP.

Either way but all does open sell infant clothing. The point is more that the sites are allowed to be open and he shouldn't make a whole spirit of the law on the other guy's parnasa. Btw another potential customer group over the nine days are sfardim

Chill out. I wasn't trying to start a fight. All I wanted to say was that I thought u made a mistake thinking that the OP said u can't work, rather all they wanted to say was that it is against the spirit of halacha to make a sale dafka during the 9 days so that people can justify shopping there. That's it.
