Chaveriem is meant if your stuck. If you cant wait, or cant make it to the tire repair shop then call them. They don't prefer that you call them and donate $25 when you can instead have it done on your own by a local tire repair guy.

Depends if front or back IME. It is often much simpler and quicker to plug a front tire than to remove it and install the spare.

As we go into Shabbos this week, think for a moment about Rabbi Osher Eisemann, a truly innocent man (I am familiar with the entire case and I can personally vouch for it) who is facing roughly 12 years in prison.

I can't stop thinking about this. Yes, they will try the state supreme court etc., but the impending prison term that looms over such a selfless man troubles me so deeply. It's the fist time in a while that I am having a hard time getting "in the mood" for Shabbos.

Friday night, I sat down to read Rabbi Reisman's weekly Chumash shiur (which get I by email every Friday, thanks to @Yehudaa ) and he said a pshat that seemed like it was directed specifically to me. I won't paste the whole thing here, because it is long, but I'll write the beginning myself and I'll paste the ending.

Anyone who's heard a lot of shiurim from Rabbi Reisman knows that he often explains the meaning of the word "הנה," behold, to mean an unexpected occurrence, like a surprise. For example, in last week's parsha, it says "Hinei avicha choleh," which he notes is the source that nobody ever got sick until Yaakov. Thus, the word "Hinei" is understood, as it was unexpected for someone to get sick.

Here is the ending from Rabbi Reisman:

Shavuos night someone asked on the Posuk in Tehillim in 121:4 הִנֵּה לֹא-יָנוּם, וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר, יִשְׂרָאֵל. A Gevaldige Kasha. HKB”H doesn’t sleep. Of course HKB”H doesn’t sleep. That is not a surprise. What is הִנֵּה לֹא-יָנוּם, וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר, יִשְׂרָאֵל? It needs an explanation. I was asked this on Shavuos night and I said Tzorech Iyun.

On Shavuos I was looking in Rav Schwab’s Sefer and I found that he Toch Devarav, in Parshas Va’eschanan on page 397 says what is הִנֵּה לֹא-יָנוּם, וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר, יִשְׂרָאֵל? He says Dovid Hamelech is talking to people in middle of a Tzarah Lo Aleinu. People in middle of their suffering. There is something going on in their lives that is difficult. It really does feel like HKB”H where are you? What is going on? Where are you Ribbono Shel Olam? It really does feel that way. Maminim Bnei Maminim, Ehrliche Yidden, but when you are in a Tzarah it feels that way. So Dovid says הִנֵּה - surprise, לֹא-יָנוּם, וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר, יִשְׂרָאֵל. HKB”H is on top of the case even now when you think Rachmana Litzlon that a person has to go to doctors, he has to go to hospitals. Where is the Ribbono Shel Olam? הִנֵּה surprise, לֹא-יָנוּם, וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר, יִשְׂרָאֵל. He is there, don’t worry.

This family also receives SNAP benefits.

1 - What is this card about and why wouldn't the money just be added to their SNAP balance?
2 - It seems like a regular debit card. Can it be used for other purchases besides food?
3 - Why did they only receive for one child in the family and not the others?
4 - Is this a one-time thing or will the card get reloaded similar to SNAP?
