Author Topic: Lakewood NJ Master Thread (Read 4428244 times)

I would be renting it out for three weeks. Its a newly renovated house with a bunch of bedrooms. Very nice but not luxe in the center of town, Sunset and James/Williams street area. Any idea how I could narrow it down?

If I need to be in Wall Street at 9 am for a short meeting and back in Lakewood ASAP, what are my options?

Bus in is the quickest, but you'll be hard pressed finding a bus out until the afternoon. So your best bet probably is driving to Jersey City and taking the PATH train.

Thanks. Which bus is this? And if I would drive to PATH, how would I do that? Is parking easy?

Either Acadamy from Brick, or maybe the kollel bus (not sure if it goes downtown). Or NJ Transit to Port Authority and then subway downtown - this might be longer though.

Not sure about Jersey City specifics, never did it myself. Just have heard of people doing it. You should be able to google it.

I believe Kollel bus goes downtown; its only one way

If you are willing to make some transfers to avoid traffic I find that the quickest way to get downtown is to drive to the Liberty Park & Ride (next to Liberty Science Center) and take the Light Rail from there to the PATH stop at Exchange Place. It's one stop on the PATH to WTC.

Another benefit of doing this is that you can take any PATH back from WTC as they all pass through Exchange place before diverging -- be aware that PATH trains run less frequently not during rush hour.

Interesting idea. Have you done this? I happen to be much more comfortable going to a spacious park and ride than have to squeeze through Jersey City streets. But the light rail + PATH sounds like it could take longer.

I don't go into the city frequently anymore, but when I do I generally leave 7:45ish and am at my desk by 9:30ish. Light rail and PATH arrive very frequently at those times so there is very little waiting
