In front of the store in the parking lot there was a singer the whole time, a recurring magic show, balloons, popcorn, cotton candy, and waitresses constantly circulating with fleishig hors d'oeuvres.

Inside there were displays of samples of random Dagim products, Meal Mart products, and sushi.

You must be new in town. For Chinese there's: Glatt Bite, Sushi & Chinese Express, Authentic Chinese (maybe more?). Smokehouses: Smoky Hill, South Side Smoke Shop.

you must be new in town. none of those places are excellent and consistent all the time. alot of hit or miss.

I am talking about Soho level chinese. Izzy bbq level. We have the customers, just need the right operator.

not denying there are tons of places. I mean specialty places. every place has the same shnitzel chinese kugal.

Guess I didn't understand what you meant by "quality". These places are all good takeout places. Not gonna blow your socks off, but all are "quality" IMO.

Not an eat-in smokehouse but if you want quality smoked food you should order from Smokey Joe. Not cheap but awesome food.

Don't disagree; but maybe I'm not as picky. I think all these places are in the same ballpark as DLux (née Steakout - that's how long I've been here )
