You are absolutely wrong. JCPL's price is fixed based on the state-run BGS Auction. Their rate will actually go DOWN a bit in June. According to my calculations it should be around .1002 but will vary a bit based on the reconciliation charge which is the only part which varies, usually within a .005 range. I don't know who is feeding you this wrong info. Only variable rates skyrocketed.

Exactly. As a licensed energy broker with real and great products those are my worst enemies! I deal almost only with commercial customers and price them out with numerous suppliers. The only residential I do is in JCPL where I have an aggregation group where I negotiate for them as a group (currently .0929 for 12 months). All these pyramids with variable rates do is sour potential customers on the whole thing.

Is there any reason why my gas bill in the last two month went up x4 even though this month I tried really hard to cut down in heater and gas to only whatever needed and it came out to 20$ more then last month

Maybe more was needed due to the cold? Are you with NJNG or a supplier?

Their rates did not go up. The only reason would be be that you may have used more heat in December and January than November (quite likely).

True, but anyone on a variable rate for gas will likely have a similar experience though not to the same extent.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but yes vote yes on the budget.
Unfortunately in the past few years some people in our town felt the need to urge the town to vote no on the budget. (even though it was lower then the previous year!!)
