I stopped by the post office for the first time in about a year. Wow! The clerk greeted me, and I'm pretty sure said "thank you", too. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. My previous average over the past few years was around 20-25 minutes per trip (bli guzma). I though maybe I had kfitzas haderech to another city...

Most upscale restaurants have something called a surprised steak. Its the top part of an entire rib eye. They have two on top of a whole rib eye. Depending on how many steaks the restaurant sells, depends on how many surprise steaks they have. Most places do not have it listed on their menu. You need to ask for it. Most people will call in advanced for it. I called and there was only 1 left. Three other ppl reserved for tonite

I cannot understand why the lkwd post office doesn't get an automated postage service machine.

Howell has one and brick has one.
It's very easy to use , and it'll save time for both the customer and the clerk.

The only reason I can think of - is that they only give them to locations where the machine would be accessible 24/7.

If it's any harder than a self serve check-in kiosk at an airport then they'll be busy all day showing people how to use it!! May not take off so well in Lakewood

I asked one of the workers there once. She didn't even know who to submit the request to get one to.

True. But it won't be meant for those people. Those people will still do the regular waiting on line.

It'll be for the more efficient people that know what thier doing, and know exactly what type and his much postage thry need.

I can just imagine a big sign on top of the machine "If you don't know how to use it then don't even try"

It's gonna be like those people going to the self check out in supermarkets only to have the attendant come help them every time.. just go to the regular cashier, it's quicker

ETA: not saying the machine isn't a good idea (I've never actually seen one) I'm just thinking of the comical scenes

Well then, maybe it will be the opposite. Everyone who doesn't have a clue will use the machine, which will love the people free for us.

What do the charge for the Surprise steak as opposed to the regular rib eye?
