+1

I'm not sure why they think Lakewood has more people on FS than Brooklyn.

Some are saying that KRM gets cheaper wholesale pricing and therefore can afford to be cheaper. Let them come to Lakewood already, and lets see them offer BP prices. And while we are at it, let gourmet glatt come as well.
Npgs has 3 huge stores u really think Krm gets cheaper than them? :o He just has a monopoly & when krm wanted 2 open took them 2 din torah so he can do what he wants

Guys comment on the scoop article, in case some people direct store owners to look at the scoop, and to see that we don't want to tolerate this anymore.

Because most of the other stores are smaller and even more expensive than NPGS.

Hard to call that a monopoly it your advantage is that you're cheaper than your competition.

I don't think they have a monopoly but the fact that they are the cheapest (with bad prices) gives all of the smaller stores the ability to charge more and still have customers due to their localities, delivery and credit etc.

In that way they do have a 'control' over the market in Lakewood. If they had KRM prices, the other small  stores would all have to be cheaper than they currently are to have any customers.
The biggest chutzpah is their name.  NPGS? Seriously?

AND many of their sale items are expired or near expiring, while you will never find that in BP KRM.

They almost always have "not for individual relsale" items (cereals, ketchup etc) for individual sale

Yup. I bought a box of cheerios recently that had been ripped away from another box in a dual package and was being sold for the regular price of a box of cheerios. There wasn't even a barcode on it because the barcode was on the other box.

Why couldn't the savings be passed onto the consumer like they are supposed to be?

BS I hate places like that.
Their store (at least the one on James) is always so dirty and such slow service.
And for .....ing sake at least they should have the balls to admit that they are making friking big bucks of everything there

There doesn't seem to be any interest in Lakewood for a clean, organized well stocked store. The places that I've been food shopping at are all disgustingly dirty and disorganized.

There is a program called Moadim L'simcha that provides groceries at literally cost price before Pesach and Sukkos. It is distributed at the stadium parking lot.

Unfortunately, a few years back the store owners complained that it's taking away from their parnassa and inhibiting their ability to charge whatever they want so the list of people 'allowed' to shop at Moadim L'simcha has been severely limited.
