I'm not a big fan of the board but I think it would be fair to let them respond before we (frum brothers) pounce on them again especially since it isn't the current board

My guess is that they took a gamble that if they leave out the one thing that's most important, either - a way will be found to fit it in or - people won't mind raised taxes because they'll feel like they're directly benefiting from it.

They lost the gamble when the state onitor approved the budget without courtesy bussing.

Suddenly the school heads got together and agreed to staggering times (which they always refused to do) but it's to little to late...

Nope. The reason why this monitor is here in the first place is because they screwed up the budget by forgetting to include 5MM for bussing.

why was it removed in the first place? It looks like someone was playing politics making a whole show of it being out of the budget only to try voting down their own budget and adding it in. Then they can say they saved budding and take a lot of credit. This includes a whole cover page article of The Voice and The Shopper. Then when they tried to do it they got overruled and lost the game.

Correct but the error was last year's boards fault but if you ask them they say it wasn't (as was written on the scoop a while back) go figure

Or they are all just plain incompetent.

We need to pay someone qualified to run the budgets, not elect some gishmaker asken.

Definitely a good idea because currently the board does not get paid

There you go, they are not motivated or interested in balancing a complex budget. Not to mention that they probably have no idea how to go about it either..

What I don't understand is, who audits the township, and why he is not on top of missing millions until the state comes in?
It is my understanding that the recipients of federal funds in excess of 500k are obligated to be properly audited for compliance and accuracy...
