IMO, for typical internet usage, it all comes down to the end-user. If the computer is properly protected, IMO you'll be fine. Are there threats that XP will be vulnerable to, but 7 won't? Absolutely. But your AV will protect you; again, if the eu does not click-through. I think that most/many infections can be avoided with smart browsing.

I did not really see the OP, but if it was a torrent then yes, you need to install a torrent downloader.

But, probably on the page with the (correct) torrent link on other links that are, at best misleading. Those links, in turn, could lead to malware.

I just counted 5 link on each page that say download, that are ads and are not the right ones to click.
If you use Ad block plus those link don't show up, and the only link is the right one.

I would not recommend using torrents unless you're somewhat familiar with them.
Besides for clicking on the wrong links, the actual torrent can contain a virus (very common), you have to know what's trustworthy.

I've been using ad block for so long, i forgot that there could be extra stuff on the page.

Went to gingerbread today, they carry:
Gross
Heimish
And their own
Personally I like Gelbsteins over Heimish, they didn't have much of gross so I went with the gingerbread challah.
