Just a friendly reminder to all (Lakewood) drivers: When waiting at a stop sign to make a left turn, please pull over as far to the left as possible/safe, so drivers behind you who want to turn right don't have to wait for you to turn left. It's a matter of common sense and common courtesy. Thank you!

I didn't say you specifically... And just because it's neon doesn't meant your visible. It's definitely better then nothing but not as good as reflectors.

especially those who walk on the nine in the River Ave area. Cars go on the shoulder all the time to pass cars waiting to make left turns I've seen many near misses recently, especially now when it gets dark so early

I was driving the other night and 2 bochurim were walking in full black garb with the flow of traffic, so I couldn't even see faces. My wife didn't ever realize till I told her. Really dangerous

Why is river ave more special then any street?? They're all dangerous!

FYI - When a car on River ave (or any other street with lanes) is waiting to turn left, it's illegal to drive in the shoulder to go around them. Yes I know everyone does it, even the cops do it.... You can get a ticket and as mentioned it's dangerous for pedestrians.

While the local police know that everyone does it and seem to turn a blind eye in the name fo keeping River ave flowing smoothly, keep in mind that if a State trooper is behind you you might just want to wait patiently for the guy in front to turn. I once got a ticket on Route 9 (north of Lakewood) for going in the shoulder for 5 feet to get into a parking lot and avoid the cars stopped in front of me.

Agreed! I have this issue when turning onto prospect from Williams. So frustrating. Btw, those who are going straight across an intersection with a stop sign (not 4-way) should also be waiting to the left

You can do it without a sim cutter if you have a pair of scissors.

+1 I've done that successfully. Just trace with a pencil and cut with a regular pair of scissors

I know someone who was passing like this, when the car in the left lane suddenly turned right with out looking,  causing an accident, the car passing on the right got a ticket
