That’s why it makes sense to lease for a fixed rate. You are locking it in so there is no possibility of downside risk price wise no matter what the market does- unless you think electricity prices + deliverywill somehow go down over 50% in the future...

Actually I was told that properly installed solar panels can prolong the life of the roof by shielding it from the sun and elements. Makes sense but I never verified that info. From what I can remember Powerlutions did have a professional roofer do the install...,

I dont deal with the SREC since all i have is pay per usage at 6.8cents per kw. Its not leased and not bought.  Call powerlutions if you want to understand it

Yes.  But with a few years of regular usage history we were able to figure out proper amount of panels that would make sense and wont bank too much

I have seen a mossadd in town losing thousands over banked usage they paid the full solar price for and were then sold back into the market at LMP of about 2 cents

Only if you oversize your solar system relative to usage. There are only around 2 months of the year when my solar system produces anything close to, or just over what I use- around April and October when there’s a lot of production but no AC usage. If you are going to put up a 3 acre solar farm for a residential electric account of course you will lose money....
