It says its permanently closed on Google maps. The one further down the nine (1352 river Ave) is open at 8.

I did a drop of research.. there's no question that said project needs to be done. Nice that they're trying to at least pretend to minimize the impact, but I'm not convinced it won't be a disaster full few months.. seems silly not to add more rooms..

Just seeing this now, It seems everyone agrees the only solution is to anticipate that demand will grow and start building more BEFORE you need it.

In the meantime, one band-aid hasn't been discussed:
How many minutes after shkiya will the Lakewood Mikvahs allow someone to go?
Maybe we can have Sfardim go before Ashkenazim, as they hold you can start earlier. This will free up more appointments throughout the night.

On a separate note, I'm not a Rav, but if the alternative is 1AM, or pushing off to the next night, there may be room for leniency in starting closer to shkiya.

Bulding them takes time. Much more than the developers and RE brokers will allow. THe New Hampshire expansion was in the works for a while already in anticipation. It was being worked on immediately after the existing part opened.

When one plans on opening a new business, there are several reasons why they wouldn't the news to be leaked too much in advance.

I'm trying to understand why a mikvah would care if people know that something is in the works.

As soon as the seventh day starts, it's miktzas Hayom k'kulo and shiva nikkiyim are over and she can go M'dioraysa. However the Rabanan were worried a lady will go, then come home, then be with her husband during the day, and then see blood and then L'mafrya she never had a clean 7 days.
So they said no Tvila by day.
(I'm not sure why the usual rule "milsa dlo shchicha lo gazru ba rabanun doesn't apply)
