Is Uber or Lyft reliable at 4am to EWR? Tried it once at this hour and was unsuccessful but it was snowing 5am in the dead winter.

Did Uber recently at 2:30 am to LGA and worked perfect. Driver even arrived about 15 minutes early. But ymmv I guess.

And if it's a scheduled trip they have to wait until the time for free.

On a side note Jewish car service's in this town have gotten outrageously expensive.

Last two times I needed the airport ride They were about the same price

Dont rely on that. I scheduled from Lakewood to EWR 4pm, 4:05 they said sorry no cars available and sent me a $5 credit. Took lyft for $40 more.

+1 just tested it out. Ubers terrible

BTW, the service is also amazing. You can arrange for the driver to pick up and bring a meal with him for a family to eat etc.

I have had great success to EWR early morning.  All you need to do is once someone accepts the ride call them to make sure they want to do an airport run. Some will cancel and some will be ok with it

Well, I have 2 attempts in the bag and didn't have a single driver assigned at any point. Wouldn't even waste my time with Uber again. By the time you realize they're not able to pick you up on time, you're left with few, if any options.

Ime in Lakewood using UberEats, during the day uber is terrible here. But at night drivers can and will come from further away, so it’s not as bad.
Give it a try in middle of the night or at least past any traffic hour (10,11 o’clock) and see if you’ll get the same results.

Correct, and as mentioned earlier, I even scheduled in advance. Uber might be fine during certain hours but it certainly ain't reliable in the dead of night (in Lakewood).

A friend of mine scheduled a pick up for 5 am only to be  canceled at 4:50am, at that point it’s too late to get a driver. He ended up having to drive and park at the airport. It’s really not worth the risk.

I tried using Uber multiple times in the past few days in Lakewood with horrible results. Drivers cancelling 2 minutes out,  no drivers available, arrival times jumping from 5 minutes to 25 minutes. I assume most of this has to do with the traffic situation but whatever it is, it's highly unreliable.
I don't know if Lyft is any better in Lakewood but every time I checked they charged more than double what Uber was charging.
