I don't think anyone would disagree with this. If they do, they are lacking in basic knowledge of how lakewood came about.

Lakewood has some internal problems just like every community but overall its the best place to live.
I did not grow up here but I lived here moved out of town and returned.
I don't think I will leave again (to another US City).
I think some people feel somehow slighted when they can't get into the most Yeshivish school when they don't Act or Dress Yeshivish.
If they don't want that lifestyle why force it on their kids?
There are very few people who can't get into "Any" School. Just not the one they want.
My sister had the same thing in Flatbush.
They told her that there are 30 slots and 24 siblings and over 300 apps.
It took a lot of Phone calls and Nudging to get my nephew in.

Still can't man/woman up, that it was L"H.

I got nothing against ya, Mimi, I agree Lakewood's a great place.

I misspoke before, the menahalim are great. I meant the Rashei Mosdos. Some are great. Some are Baalei Gaavah w/o an ounce of Lesheim Shamayim in them.

I think because there are way too many arguments involved with Lakewood, I don't think the Forum needs another argument thread.

That thread was about how many lkwd based visitors visit this site has. . . it was mostly about how IP's aren't good proof of where people are based. . .
The point of that thread was too move the arguments from this thread over to that thread so we can keep this one clean and useful.

IMO yes, much more. I never took a census though so that is obviously debatable. Though what bothers me most is how quick and far they get off the derech, (and yes this is based on my experience, not statistics.)

I dont think there are more in Lakewood, but kids who grow up in more religious families tend to go way farther then if a person grew up in "less" frum family that I do agree with.

But the concept is actually basic kabalah/chassidus. The lowest sparks in this world come from the highest sources just as the top brick on a wall that falls goes the furthest away from the base.
